On Saturday, Sept. 7, AIM Recycling California hosted its inaugural Family Day, welcoming in employees’ families and friends from across Southern California into the facility. The event provided an inside look at the metal recycling process and the daily roles of their loved ones.
According to AIM Recycling, the goal of Family Day is to help create lasting memories and strengthen bonds among employees and their guests. The day featured a variety of fun summer activities, along with a catered lunch and exciting prize draws.
To showcase the full range of roles and responsibilities, families received guided tours of the facility to educate guests on the intricacies and unique value of metal recycling, led by the general manager. Guests also got to participate in fun activities such as jumpers and inflatable games and a complimentary ice cream truck.
“We are passionate about creating value for our customers and those we work with. As a global leader, we are committed to excellence in the recycling of metals,” Corey Cooper, director of marketing Ontario & USA. “Events like these reflect our corporate culture and help distinguish us from other employers. We deeply value our employees and recognize the importance of educating their families about the vital roles they play in making a positive impact.”
AIM Recycling’s core values—Passion, Teamwork, Agility, Commitment to Excellence, and Community Engagement—are at the heart of everything the company does. As active members of the communities AIM Recycling serves, the company prioritizes dedicating its efforts and energy to activities that create lasting value.
As part of the event, AIM Recycling welcomed the Colton Police and Fire Departments to join in the festivities.
“We value the crucial roles that emergency services, including fire, police, and frontline staff, play in our communities. To express our gratitude for their ongoing service and support, we invited their teams to join us at the event,” said Alba Estrada, Marketing Specialist USA. “This gesture not only strengthened our relationships with these key community members, but also reinforced to our employees and their loved ones that their safety is a top priority both inside and outside of the workplace.”
For other recyclers who want to plan a family day at their facilities, the key to hosting an event like this is education—fostering transparency and offering valuable insight into the recycled materials industry and workplace.
“We believe in the pivotal role metal recycling plays in the environment and the community,” Cooper added. “That’s why we’re committed to educating our employees and their families about the critical importance of metal recycling. By empowering them with knowledge, we aim to inspire a collective drive towards bettering the impact on the environment.”
