Ferrous and nonferrous processor AllMetal Recycling, based in Wichita, Kan., has acquired Salina Iron & Metal (Salina, Kan.), according to The Wichita Eagle. The company has changed the name to AllMetal Recycling Salina. The acquisition makes geographic sense due to the accounts AllMetal already has in the area and the location’s railroad access and proximity to major highways, Clint Cornejo, co-owner of AllMetal, told the newspaper.
AllMetal has made several acquisitions over the past few years. Before Salina, its most recent purchase was in November 2019, when the company acquired Wichita-based Glickman Metal Recycling from The Yaffe Cos. With three yards in Wichita, one in Newton, one in Harper, and the most recent acquisition in Salina, AllMetal has grown to six yards since its formation in 2009. While all yards remain within 100 miles of Wichita, Cornejo told Kansas-based outlet Landmark Real Estate News the company now takes in scrap from across the state.
AllMetal is not actively planning to expand again soon, but remains open to the possibility, Cornejo told The Wichita Eagle.
