The recycling industry is essential, resilient, and plays a vital role in the U.S. economy. Throughout the pandemic, the men and women of the recycling industry have done what is necessary to keep themselves, co-workers, and loved ones safe, all while continuing to provide the critical raw materials necessary to keep the manufacturing sector operating.
Members of the ISRI Executive Committee released a video encouraging industry workers to remain vigilant and take the necessary precautions during the Covid-19 crisis. They emphasized how workers’ physical and mental health are of utmost importance. Their public service announcement highlights that as the colder months approach and people spend more time indoors, they must be sure to follow the guidelines developed by OSHA, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and federal and local officials to operate safely, or not at all.
