Congratulations are in order for Kaizen Enterprise and their CEO Nilesh Limbasia on receiving the President’s “E” Award for exports by the Biden administration. U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo presented the award to Kaizen Enterprise and 23 other companies and organizations that made significant contributions over the past four years to expand U.S. business in international markets.

“The award recipients being honored today have seen tremendous success in international markets and generated substantial economic growth here at home that benefits American workers, families, and local economies,” said Raimondo. “I am excited to recognize these businesses as prime examples of America’s global private-sector leadership.”

This year’s award recipients are estimated to have contributed nearly $1.5 billion in exports of goods and services between 2019 and 2022. Raimondo specifically highlighted Limbasia and his company during her remarks. “Kaizen Enterprise of Princeton Junction, New Jersey exports scrap metals, lead-acid batteries, and paper. It has doubled its exports each year for the past four years, meaning more materials are being recycled instead of ending up in landfills. And that’s just a sample of the many American companies whose leadership will set a course for a better future for us and our neighbors around the world.”

The “E” award was created in an executive order signed by President John F Kennedy in 1961. It is the highest recognition a company can receive for making a significant contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports.

“It’s quite an honor for an ISRI member to receive this award. It’s an indication of the value of the recycled materials industry to global economies,” said Cheryl Coleman, ISRI’s senior vice president of advocacy and sustainability. “Nilesh is originally from India and started the company six years ago. To achieve such a prestigious award in such a short amount of time illustrates the opportunities for success in the recycled materials industry.”
